TaxGeek06b-Alerts

A number of bugs in TaxGeek06b have been uncovered. Users should consider these carefully when preparing any of these forms. TaxGeek06c is slated to be released by week-end (2007-02-09) but is waiting on other consistency checks.

• Schedule SE
  Cosmetic change (Line 6 read: "Enter the result here and on Form 1040, line 30. Should read: "Enter the result here and on Form 1040, line 27."
• iraDeductionWorkSheet.htm
  Cosmetic Changes to lines 11 and 12 Boxes on right hand side for line 11 were labeled 9a, 9b instead of 11a and 11b. Also, boxes on right hand side for line 12 were labeled 10a, and 10b instead of 12a and 12b. Lines 7a and 7b were not showing results of calculations, nor were lines 8 or 10.
• Form 8863 had numerous errors:
  
  • Line 16 was incorrectly calculated as the minimum of 14 and 15.
  • Line 1d was improperly calculated.
  • Previously it was assumed that everyone was a GOZ student.
  • Additionally, the qualifications worksheets were not saved separately (thus providing inconvenience to users).
• Bad recalc button on the following forms

  • - Form 2441 -
  • - Form 5695 -
• Child Tax Credit Worksheet was incorrectly calculating amount on line 4.
• Schedule C losses were reported as zero on Form 1040.
• simpMethodWorkSheet.htm was not automatically calculating totals on 1040 with updates.
